Offering the best negotiation theory and skills available as tools, Career Negotiations puts clients’ core interests (needs, motivations, and aspirations) at the center of their career development to investigate their overlap with professional options.
Through collaboration with connections, clients create champions in their networks who will go to bat for them, and remember them when an opportunity comes up. The results are choice, control, impact, and fulfillment in their careers.
Unlike some coaches who spew suggestions, we focus on listening to the needs of clients and make the process resonate with them. We work with clients to probe options and investigate the best way to gain access to their new chosen opportunity. The results are that they speak up with confidence, create respectful collaborative relationships, enjoy impressive professional results, and follow intentional career direction.

Why would I need a career coach?
There are a number of reasons individuals hire a career coach. Most commonly, people are not sure what they want to do, so they don’t know how to start. A coach will offer a process to identify what’s important to you and ways to pinpoint professional options. Often people get distracted and don’t feel that they are making any progress. A coach will offer accountability and structural check-ins to monitor your progress. Often just having a meeting on the calendar is enough to spur people in to action. Other times, people get stuck because they are not sure what to do next. A coach will layout the steps to follow, so it’s always clear how to move forward.
How do I find the right coach?
Fit with a coach is paramount. Talk to at least a few and ask for a complimentary initial session. Explore how their approach resonates with you, and if you think you can work well together.
What's the most common way that people find jobs these days?
In a word, networking. By the numbers, less than 10% of people are placed by applying online, less than 10% by posting their resumes online, and less than 20% by working with a recruiter. That means that more than 60% of people are placed by referral or recommendation (and research shows it may be as high as 80%!).
